Year-End Giving
Practicing the ways of Jesus and inviting others on the journey.
As we reflect on this year and look ahead to the next, we are so thankful for all that God is doing amongst our church. As you reflect below on some highlights of the stories written this past year, we invite you to make a year-end gift to Midtown. Whether you want to invite a friend or family member to give, you had a great year financially, maybe you wait until the end of the year to practice generosity, or want to jump in for the first time, our year-end giving is a great way to help us finish the year well and start strong in the next.
Will you prayerfully consider giving a year-end gift this year? We are so thankful to all who are generous in their giving.
Baptisms
This year we joyfully celebrated seven baptisms, each one a beautiful public declaration of faith and a step into a new life in Christ. As individuals came forward to be baptized, we gathered around with hearts full of hope and praise — marking more than just a ceremony, but a powerful symbol of spiritual transformation. Baptism, as we believe, is an outward expression of an inward transformation; it declares that Jesus has changed one’s life and that the baptized person now shares in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Each baptism Sunday became a vivid reminder that God is still at work among us. As people rose from the water, we weren’t just witnessing a tradition — we were celebrating new beginnings, fresh commitments, and renewed identities in Christ. These baptisms strengthened the fabric of our church family, inviting all of us to rejoice together in God’s grace, to support and walk with one another, and to proclaim with joy!
Outreach & Socials
This year, we grew in being a church that looks outward. From giving away 500+ hot dogs at Porchfest to showing up in everyday community spaces, we looked for simple, tangible ways to meet people right where they already are. These moments were about genuine generosity and meaningful connections with others in our city.
Our social gatherings were designed as bridges, not just events. Whether through Board Game & Pub Nights, Park Day & BBQ, or Trivia Night, we created easy, welcoming environments where anyone could show up, belong, and bring a friend. We also launched the year in generosity through our New Year’s Kick-Off in support of Palm & Shields Little League, celebrating what it means to invest in the fabric of our community. This year reminded us that the church doesn’t primarily exist for itself — it exists for the people around us.
Additionally, our Community Groups are beginning to exist around 3 rhythms: Life With God, Life With Others, and Life on Mission, incorporating monthly rhythms of outwardness.
Groups & Courses
This year, we created intentional spaces where real connection and real growth could happen. Experiences like Alpha, Rooted, and Discover Midtown gave people room to ask honest questions, deepen their faith, and take meaningful next steps. These environments weren’t built for information alone, but for transformation — where stories were shared, trust was formed, and people were invited into a deeper sense of purpose and belonging.
Our Community Groups continued to be the heartbeat of our church, and this year we celebrated the launch of two new groups led by brand-new leaders, expanding both our capacity and our leadership. One of the most meaningful breakthroughs came through the Emotionally Focused Intensive, where leaders and participants from six different churches were represented. This marked a beautiful step forward in serving the broader city — not just building our church, but strengthening the wider Church and freely giving away what God is developing among us.
Youth Ministry
This year marked a huge step forward for our student community. With the development of and investment into a Youth Coordinator role, new structure, vision, and consistency was brought to the ministry. With two full semesters of consistent Wednesday night gatherings, students found a place to belong, grow, and explore their faith in meaningful ways. One semester was spent walking through Alpha, giving students space to ask honest questions and wrestle with real issues of belief, while another semester focused on the Sermon on the Mount, challenging and shaping how they live out their faith in everyday life.
Beyond weekly gatherings, our students experienced unforgettable moments at Calvin Crest summer camp, along with fun, friendship-building events like swim parties and pizza nights. Together, these moments formed a year of momentum, joy, and spiritual growth for the next generation.
Kids Ministry
This year, our kids had a blast while learning about God’s love in tangible, memorable ways. On Sundays, our Kids Ministry provided a safe, engaging space where children could explore faith through play, stories, and hands-on activities.
Special highlights included Five Sundays of Fun, where kids enjoyed a camp-like experience each Sunday with extra activities like water day, a visit from the Kona Ice truck, and a day with the Bubble Man, all reminders that life with Jesus is never boring. Fall Kids Day gave kids the opportunity to put generosity into action by building “blessing bags” to give away while getting creative through art and gardening. We were also grateful for adults joining in through Three Over Three, serving on the kids’ team three Sundays over three months — a beautiful reminder that it takes a village to raise up the next generation. This year in Kids Ministry was full of joy, service, and moments that sparked a love for God in every child. May they continue to be a motivation!
Meaningful Services
As Jesus so clearly instructed, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” may we continue to join him in the writing of his great story here in our city.
This year, we gathered in various ways on Sundays and throughout the week, spaces to pause, reflect, and encounter God together. We are so thankful for the inspiring guest speakers who continue to invite us deeper in our faith and outwardness toward the last, the least, and the lost.
Our first Good Friday service allowed the story of Jesus’ last hours before his death to grab our hearts and imagination. The Gratitude Experience offered a sacred rhythm of reflection, as people gathered around tables to contemplate the ways God’s goodness has shown up and is calling them forward. Holy Spirit nights were intentional spaces to invite God’s presence and power to speak, heal, and renew through extended worship and prayer.
We also marked the joy of our 5th birthday, celebrating what God has done these past 5 years!
These gatherings were more than events on a calendar — they were opportunities to cultivate faith, connect in community, and experience God shaping our hearts and lives in profound ways.
